SOLD$149.00
This item is sold. The price is shows for reference only.
Antique Christmas candy container gnomes made in Germany. They are 13″ tall. and their heads and hands are paper mache. The bodies are hollow cardboard covered in chenille and lined in pretty, blue, print paper. They come apart at the waist to hold the candy.
Each one holds a plastic lantern in his right hand. Three of them have a stick in their left hand. The other lost his somewhere along the way. They all wear a red, felt hat and one has a red, felt scarf. All sport a white, wool beard. Other facial features and hair are painted.
The condition varies from gnome to gnome. The paper mache is cracked on them all. One has a bad crack at his ear where it is only attached at the top, but not in danger of coming off unless it takes a hard lick or you deliberately pull it off. The neck is loose on another, but held on by the chenille. The cardboard of the tummy of one is bent where it fits into the upper tummy. It appears all their feet have been sloppily glued back onto the legs. I’m sure this is why it’s so hard to find these guys. They weren’t made to last! How wonderful that someone saved them and took the time to make repairs through the years.
They have been in my personal collection for the past 15 years or more. It was a hard decision to make, but I’ve decided to let them go. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Primitive apothecary drawers, hand made and wood. There are two drawers just barely deep enough for recipe or index cards. It can sit or be hung on the wall.
It is 19″ wide, just under 8″ tall at the tallest point in back and 5-3/4″ tall in front. The base is 5″ front to back. The wood is 3/4″ thick. Inside drawer (where you put stuff) measures 3-1/8″ x 6-1/2″. Outside drawer measurement is 8″ x 4-1/2″.
Each drawer has a wooden knob attached with flat head screws. The whole piece has the original stain and satin finish. Construction is with small nails.
I don’t know the age. The back is Masonite. If this is original, I’d place the age at no later than 1960s. If it’s a replacement… I really can’t guess.

Lovely Christmas tree plate from Homer Laughlin. It is 9-1/2″ diameter and features a transfer decal of a decorated Christmas tree with toys underneath in the center. A 1-1/4″ band of deep green encircles the edge and gold trim finishes the look.
The plate is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There are, however, three, rusty looking stains on the back under the glaze. There are some small bumps in the clay.
The back is marked Homer Laughlin Best China.
This particular pattern and color combination seems to be very hard to find.

Abbey Press Christmas plate, dated 1979. Entitled, Christmas is a Gentle Season. A limited edition designed by Crystal Collins. Numbered 4670/6000.
It is 8-1/2″ diameter and features a bird sitting on an evergreen branch with snowflakes in the air. Christmas is a Gentle Season is written above the scene and a gold rim runs the circumference of the plate. It is in beautiful condition with no cracks, crazing or nicks.
The back reads:
“His gentle coming touches us with love, enfolds us in peace, and fills us with hope.”
“Christmas is a season of gentleness and simplicity, of goodness becoming a little child. This plate captures a mood of gentleness, a quiet spirit of simplicity that characterizes the entire season, the season of God’s gentle little creatures.”

Fun, mod, vintage Christmas tablecloth from American Greetings. Probably 1960’s. It is a disposable tablecloth, still in it’s unopened package.
The graphics are pink reindeer, presents and Santas on a green background. It is 1-1/2 yards x 2-1/2 yards. (36 square feet.) The paper has a tiny, waffle texture.
The tablecloth, having never been out of the package, is in excellent condition. Although the plastic wrapping has never been opened, the package is torn along the top edge.

Vintage, Christmas, ceramic Santa loaded with “spaghetti” trim. His beard, the fur around his hat, sleeves, neck and hem are all the spaghetti trim and it all seems to be in very good condition. I don’t see any broken off. He has rosy cheeks and painted eyes and mouth. He’s 4″ tall and sitting on a white bag. Wonder what surprises are in that bag for all the good little children?
The only problem I see is the cold paint wearing off his shoes. The little finger on his raised, right hand is broken off, but is glazed over, so this happened in production. It was like this new. The bottom is marked MADE IN JAPAN in red letters.

Pair of simple, Art Deco, door knob back plates. They are 6″ long and 2-3/4″ at the widest point and appear to be brass plated on the front. One has the remnants of white paint from some long ago house painting project. They are scratched from what was, apparently, an over zealous cleaning. –Not by me! I don’t work that hard! ;-) They are nice and straight.
Use in your home restoration or in your altered art project.

This was a porcelain blank creamer, hand painted by a very talented “Sunday afternoon” hobbyist. She chose pale violets and green leaves. The applied feet are painted the same violet as the flowers and the handle has just a hint of the same color. She signed it simply, E.C. No date. I believe, however that this shape can be dated to the 1970’s.
It stands just over 4″ tall and is in perfect condition. No chips, cracks or crazing.
