Here, under the “Learn” umbrella, I share the knowledge I’ve gained through the years and things I’m still learning, because there’s always something more to learn, about finding and selling vintage goods. I share items that sold each month, things I buy to sell, pictures of the booth, online selling tips and anything else I find that will help you succeed in your vintage reselling journey, whatever your goals in that journey are.
Things are still looking up on Etsy and I’m beginning to put some things on eBay as well. Working on that Stash O’ Stuff! If only I were faster. But I’m not, so I do what I can.
Okay. In the newsletter our mall sends out every month, they said over 16,000 items were sold and there were 4200 invoices for the month of October making it their third best October ever. I did notice they did not mention a dollar amount. They usually do. Hmmmm…..
So how much did our booth contribute to that? Not a whole heck of a lot. I mean, I guess my sales were as good as could be expected considering we have precious little furniture in there to run up the sales total. If we had a small booth, the sales total would be fine. Not great, but okay. But we don’t. We have a large, double booth to accommodate those big ol’ farm tables and other large pieces Ricky builds. Problem is, there is no big ol’ farm table in there, nor has there been in several months. Gosh! I’ll be glad to get back to a normal routine!!
October with Etsy was very encouraging! Finally! Did I do anything different? Not that I know of. I just kept on listing when I could like I always do. Some items that sold were new listings, some not. Kinda gets back to my theory that something happens to my shop when they are testing. Or maybe it was the whole 4th quarter thing. Or maybe just coincidence. I don’t know. I just want it to continue and get better from there.
The total sales were $371.10. Not where I want them to be, I’d prefer $3710.00, naturally, and I’d say $3000 is my goal, but I have to spend a LOT more time working than I’ve been able to to make that goal. Still, sales were sooooo much better than they have been that I’m pretty happy. When you consider how much time I have NOT been able to devote to selling, I’m okay with the numbers.
I feel weird about telling how much I pay for individual items but will say that my total purchase price for the items that sold was………………. $8.30. Six items were “free”, some from my parent’s. The word free is relative, though. I worked hard for those free things. Continue reading Etsy Sales Report for October – Better Than They Have Been Lately
Finally, the booth is decorated for fall! Such as it is. The booth has been so neglected. There just haven’t been big blocks of time to fix that, Ricky hasn’t had a chance to build any new furniture, and sales have definitely suffered. I was also sharing a booth with a friend at a mall near here and had neglected my part there, too, so I gave that up, changed the price tags, gathered up fall and Halloween things, a couple of crummy bookcases, three pieces of furniture from my Dad’s and planned to spend a day at Angel’s. (Angel’s in Opelika, Alabama) Continue reading Pictures Of the Booth Decorated For Fall
