Ricky got lucky and didn’t have to work this weekend. He said he slept well last night and seemed to be in a good mood, so I told him about the table. He took it very well! Oh, he had to lecture me, but didn’t get too upset. And he fixed it so that it didn’t look quite so bad. I told him how literally sick I was, how my stomach had churned since it happened and he felt bad about that! What a sweetheart! See, just a few years ago, I’d be hearing about it days later. He’s not quite as OCD or particular as he used to be. It took half a lifetime, but he’s finally mellowing out. The old Ricky’s reactions are so ingrained in my mind, it’s hard to think he’ll react differently now. Oh, and he agrees that we should have it refinished with a more protective finish.
WHEW!!!
OMG Wanda, I’m so laughing at your comment about the hot flashes…and stuff! I’m really glad you shared it with me and I’m going to try them. Maybe I’ll get some of those “feelings” back again. Didn’t have a problem til the doc put me on the hormone pills.
Thanks for stopping…I added you to my favs so I’ll be back often..actually I read your blog every day!
Hugz,
Michele
Hey, Wanda…long time, no talk! I just read your table saga & glad you are still alive, LOL. Hope you can get that thing fixed where it’s more protected. Looks like you’ve been busy with all the estate sales & all. I’ve been out there too with lots of other stuff going on.
My SIL moved out of the house & all that stuff was hers. We went over to see what is left, but the electricity is off, so couldn’t see very well in the basement. If there’s anything left that looks worth salvaging, I’ll let you know! Maybe you could bring your truck up and fill it up. I’m just not sure what is left at this point.

I’m sorry about your table situation, but was happy to read how it turned out. 🙂 We do mellow with age. We have a pine breakfast nook that my daughter did her homework at and I can see all her writing. It was NOT expensive like your table, but was brand new to me and … oh well. I’m with you – I want a big, uneven, worn out farm table or something!
Angie 🙂
That is the exact reason I can never have new furniture! Between kids, cats, dogs and me – anything new will get messed up – and I feel so bad when it happens! But I just don’t have the time or energy to protect stuff. I just LOVED the carpet in the bedroom when we got it- I guarded it for 2 years then I just gave out…now it’s wrinkled, dirty and has a trail of drippy footprints from the pool to the bathroom! Now I wish I had Astro-turf!! Do you have the store dressed up for fall? I need some inspiration! Since it looks like I will never leave town again – how about some pictures???
Wanda, so glad that the affair of the table ended on a good note…you should post pictures so we can all be jealous! I’ve been away for two weeks, but am back. Glad I followed your trail..
hugs
Sandi
Wanda, the Madonna and child picture on the wall is gorgeous!

I’m sitting here with white knuckles all nervous of the outcome! Whew is right!
