Regretfully letting go of summer

It’s never been a secret that summer is my favorite season. I love the weather of spring and fall, but only summer meant lazy, do nothing days in my youth. Apparently that has lasted throughout my lifetime. Here I am with grandchildren and I still don’t want to work in the summer. I did as little as possible this year. Not intentionally, but that’s how it went down. I slacked on the blog, the blog shop, Etsy and the booth. But the memories….. Oh, the memories! Continue reading Regretfully letting go of summer

Great Sounding Sale But I Was Too Late

Picks from an August estate sale

Two weekends ago, there was a great sounding estate sale advertised about 45 miles from here. I’ve gotten out of the habit of making that trip, but the pictures of this sale were rather irresistible. Tables full of Christmas plus the words, “60 years of accumulation” will get me every time. It looked like some of the sales Tiffany and I get to do. TONS of stuff. And I know how our sales are. There’s something for everyone and at the end, when we can literally pack it all up in 10 boxes, there are still things I can get and resell. So why wouldn’t this sale be the same? Thursday Sales – Bad Yard Sale Sign

Furniture sale sign

I picked up our local want ads paper to see what might be going on in the way of sales this weekend and saw one advertised for Thursday (today) at 2:00. It was already almost three, but I figured I’d go see what they had. It turned out to be a no show. Glad it was only a couple of miles away. BUT…. when I pulled out of my driveway, on the stop sign post at the street corner, I saw this bad yard sale sign: Continue reading Thursday Sales – Bad Yard Sale Sign

Antique Booth Pictures for July

Booth July 2016

There are a several reasons I haven’t been taking many/any pictures of the booth in awhile.

  1. I let it get pretty empty. Ricky made the offhand comment his furniture was making the money, so I stopped putting my stuff in there. I’d just show him. Yeah. I’m having to start filling it up again. The furniture makes a big chunk at once, but the smalls usually equal that amount. It takes it all.
  2. When we went to the booth, we were usually running late and basically had to drop and run. It just wasn’t looking nice.
  3. My phone was sick. See the end of the previous post about that. I wasn’t taking any pictures anywhere, any time.

But I now have a new phone and will have to get back in the habit. Or a better habit than I was in before. I also need to take more stuff. It still looks a bit skimpy in the pictures. Continue reading Antique Booth Pictures for July
