Beautiful, Art Nouveau tile in buttery yellow, green, brown and gold. A graceful flower is the center of attention here.
The tile is 6″ x 6″. It does have crazing, a small chip on the top left corner and a small, missing piece of yellow just under the flower on the left. (Please see the close-up.) It displays beautifully. Use with a picture hanger in a wall grouping or on a plate stand on a table top.
There are some marks on the back, but I can barely see them with a loupe. I could not get a picture of them. They are a series of short perpendicular and horizontal lines, similar to I’s and E’s. There is also a mark in the middle that looks like it could be an open triangle. In the center could be what looks like a T7 or an A, or ??? It depends on the angle if it actually looks like anything. I wish the camera could pick all this up. I’m going to venture to say that the marks could even possibly be Japanese, but I’m really just throwing that out there as a possibility.
