You know I told y’all that I just haven’t found much worth mentioning in the past few weeks? This is what I bought over the past week. One or two things I’m glad to have found. The rest? Enh.
(Keep reading to the end. If you haven’t heard, there’s a great contest going on over on Rhoda’s blog, Southern Hospitality.)
Warning. The following picture quality is embarrassing! Horribly so. Ugh.
Darling baby clothes, big stencils and chalk thingies I thought might be pretty glued to a piece of furniture and painted. Someday. When I finally paint some furniture. Eventually. Maybe.

The round box is quite heavy. It has an undetermined date with a can of spray paint. I kinda liked the dancers. Dancers? What are they? Anybody know? Or know anything about them? The cat will most certainly go in my Halloween collection. But look at his butt.
What do you suppose was in there originally? A brush? Maybe a weighted tail so it was like a bobble head? Or bobble butt. (Snicker, giggle.)
~~~
I thought these hot pads would be cute to put out at Christmas.
~~~
Sigh. You can hardly contain yourself with all this excitement, can you? I know. I can feel it through the air waves.
~~~
Pickle jar and sitting on top, a woodpecker. Elf planter that I realized after it was bought and on the way to the car that it had a chip on his foot. Two pretty butter pats. A small chess box that seemed like it might make a good altered art thing. When the man was deciding how much to charge, he looked at the larger box and said, You know that box is dovetailed? That scared me. I mean, it’s a cheap box. Just because it’s dovetailed doesn’t make it expensive. I think it might have added to the price, but oh, well. The antlers partly make up for the ones almost identical that I PASSED UP a few weeks ago. Have no idea why I didn’t buy them. Oh yes. I remember. There was only one. Stoopid me.
~~~
I almost didn’t buy this, but I seem to be incapable of passing them up. Nobody else seems to have that problem because they’re always waiting for me.
~~~
And that’s it. See? I told ya. Worse than that, there have been so many dry weeks in a row this week might be a winner and I’m broke! Arghhhhh!
~~~~~~
And now, just in case you’ve missed it, Silhouette is sponsoring a giveaway over at Southern Hospitality. You could win a Silhouette paper cutting tool! So head on over to Rhoda’s and get your entries in.
Fun stuff and very different. No, that cat can’t be an ashtray? Nah.
Love those antlers and I’m sure you’ll come up with something fantastic for the box. Happy hunting.
First I hear ya about the slim pickins. I’m not having very good luck either, but I think you’ve done pretty darn good! I love your nubian couple! Such great kitsch! And the baby clothes are too cute! Are those drapery hardware pieces? I found some of those too last week. I really like the metal basket too. I never see them here. Vanna
I know you say “slim pickings” but you have found some great items!
Blessings!!
Wow, you found some great stuff. Love the metal basket. Sea Witch
I really like the big jar with the bird on it! And someone got to some antlers right as I saw them last week! If I had only been a few seconds faster…. Nothing looks too promising around here this weekend- we may make a field trip to Columbus!
slim maybe in comparison, but these are really great finds!
If I could only have a bigger house or a husabnd that liked “vintage” stuff…he is into modern stuff! sorry to say!
your buy is great ..love that jar! and the boxes!
Love the little baby kimono!
I think you hit some great finds! I just love junkin!
UUUUHHHHH! That little black “slit in the butt” kitty needs to come live with all of the buttless cats! It is adorable! The Queen is requesting it for her birthday! LOL Tiff
That cat cracks me up! Will be great for halloween!
I too had a few light weeks of yard saleing but then I got a fabulous old wheel barrow and an old cement planter….whoo hoo!
Well Wanda, some weeks are just better than others, right? But I do love that basket (guess I couldn’t pass it up either!)…hope you are staying out of the way of these darn storms.
Hugs,
Judy
