Antique, handwriting book, Palmer’s Penmanship Budget, 1924 edition.
Cursive writing is becoming a lost art, and it was an art in the early part of the 20th century. Palmer’s Penmanship teaches the beautiful Spencerian penmanship — calligraphy, block text, blackboard writing, flourishing, and even how to draw faces using the lettering strokes. It covers basic cursive writing most pupils could master, but also fancy drawing that most probably couldn’t.
The book is gray, paper cover, 10″ x 8″ and in fair to good condition. The pages are clean and not torn. The front does have some stains. The spine is torn in places. There is a red (ink?) stain from the upper right page edges for the first several pages.
