Wow! We never see a pair of these vintage, brass, 17 candle candelabras! These came together from the same home. They are 18-1/2″ tall and the largest spread is about 15″. There are 8 arms for 16 candle cups and the top has the 17th cup. It takes the standard, taper candles, but the previous owner had used florist clay to help hold them in place, so you might expect to have to do the same. It can be taken apart for easier cleaning/polishing or to simply swivel the arms so that it is flatter rather than the Christmas tree shape. It’s ornate with the brass curling above and below each arm.
I spent a few hours digging out green and white florist clay and candle wax. Expect to see remnants of this in the cups. I did not clean or polish, so there is some patina. There are spots where the previous owner didn’t clean all the Brasso off after polishing. As is common for this type of candelabra, some of the cups and drip cups are a little crooked. There is nothing indicating where it was made, but I suspect Taiwan in the 1970s.
Great for weddings, and being shaped like an evergreen tree, Christmas. And, of course, there’s no reason they can’t be on display in your home year-round.
I will loosen the arms to lie as flat as possible for shipping.
