Sweet, vintage Lefton chicken trinket box. I would say it’s an Easter chick! It can be a trinket box or candy dish or just hold an Easter surprise. Made of bisque, it stands 5″ tall and is 4-1/2″ chest to tail. The colors are so soft. Yellow body standing with one leg up in a bed of pink flowers. I don’t find any chips or nicks, not even on those delicate flower petals or the beak.
It has a red Lefton sticker on the bottom that reads: “Lefton’s Reg US Pat Off – Exclusives – Japan” as well as a stamp that reads: Lefton China Hand Painted – Reg US Pat Off – KW2931.” These date this piece to 1953-1971.
