Vintage, 1960s, black iron spider candle holder, made in Japan by or for Takahashi. It is just over 4″ in diameter and 1-1/2″ tall. There are twelve, 1/4″ spots for tiny tapers and one center hole that is about 7/8″ for a larger candle. It is marked JAPAN on the bottom and still has the Takahashi – San Fransisco – Japan sticker.
There are some remnants of wax that I missed scraping out and a small amount of missing paint on the bottom of the feet. The worst is pictured and very much magnified.
These were done in the Danish modern style. The gift market’s answer to the Dansk iron candlesticks, I would imagine.
