Adorable, little pottery weasel or ferret cactus/succulent planter or ring dish. He is 4-3/4″ long and 3″ deep and high. His little yellow “basket” is on the back side with an opening of just 2-3/4″ x 1″ x 3/4″ deep, so I believe you could plant a VERY small, shallow rooted plant, like a small succulent in there, or you could use it as a ring dish. Or just let him sit around being all cute.
I believe he is from the 1940s, even with his unsullied bottom. The previous owner put felt pads on the bottom, so it would never have come in contact with anything to dirty it up. He is in very good condition. I found crazing when I looked through the magnifying glass and there is a tiny, pre-glaze nick on the rim of the basket opening. It does seem to have glaze on it, so would have happened during the manufacturing process.
This little guy is extremely hard to find and would be perfect for a ferret owner!
