Uncommon, large, vintage, brass, horse head door knocker. Great item for the equestrian!
The brass has aged well with a lovely patina. The total length is 6-1/2″, with the head being 4″ x 3″ and the ring 3-1/2″ diameter. It’s a heavyweight, weighing just under a pound. The details are smoothed and not carved deep or intricate. It is NOT solid brass. The back is hollow. The brass, when poured into the mold didn’t quite completely fill one of the eyes.
There are two holes for screws on each side of the nose.
