I’m scared of birds. I channel a bit of Tippi in The Birds. I’m creeped out if they start flapping their wings in my face, but I love watching them and love vintage, bird decor! So much so that I’m beginning to scale down my collection. So, before I change my mind, here is a vintage, bird on a tree stump bud vase…..
Done in stunning colors, and a high gloss glaze, the parrot is green and orange feathers with a yellow breast. The tree stump is white with gold accents.
It is 6″ tall and about 4″ wide.
Made In Japan is impressed on the bottom along with an illegible, blue stamp.
There are some flaws. There is a manufacturing flaw of rough, clay build-up on the side of his neck. There are also some hairline cracks, mostly on the inside, but one does go through to the outside. Please see the last picture for close ups.
