The label still on this piece of Santee Print Works fabric tells us is was made in November of 1975. Perhaps the pattern name was Blue Bell. That’s hand written in the corner. The piece was originally 56″ wide, but is now 36″ wide by 18″ long with a 9″ x 12″ leg. It is a coarse cotton, maybe duck. The print repeat is 7″. The color is a little creamier than in the first two pictures, but not quite as dark as the third. There are a couple of dirty spots, but they don’t look like anything that would be a problem. They just appear to be areas that rubbed against something. There is also a spot above the label that looks like sticker glue. Again, shouldn’t be a problem removing that.

“The A-line dress has slightly lowered round neckline, back zipper and set-in sleeves. V. 1 has elbow length, bell shaped sleeves and double circular ruffle at neck edge. Ruffles and sleeves are encased in braid. V. 2 with embroidered braid or ribbon trim has short sleeves with gathered ruffles. Lace insertion trimmed V. 3 has elbow length sleeves gathered to sleeve bands..”

Suggested fabric: Cottons and blends; gingham. Linen. Silks, synthetics and blends; poplin, canvas, duck, challis, cotton sateen, hopsacking. Lightweight wools and blends; wool crepe.
