Vintage Gunne Sax maxi dress from the 1970’s in a renaissance style, size extra small – small.

It’s in an unbleached, cotton duck type fabric. Looks similar to drop cloth fabric, but not as heavy. It has long sleeves and an attached, lace apron at the waist. The bodice has princess seams with lace overlay and ties corset style up the middle. The gathered at the shoulder sleeves end in 8″ of the same lace. There is tan gimp around all the lace edges.

It zips up the back and the sleeves zip up the side in the lace.

There is no size label, so I’m having to guess by the way it fits me. I believe it is a small, but it could be an extra small.

The measurements are:

Waist: 28″
Bust under armscye: 34″
Sleeve length from top shoulder seam: 29″
Length from center back neck to waist: 14-1/2″
Total length: 53-1/2″
Length of apron from dip at center waist: 24″

It’s in very good condition. There is a small gray spot on the side. Some of the fabric under the zipper lap did not catch correctly. I’ve included a picture of these flaws. The seam edges were not serged or overlocked and are beginning to ravel, but it has a generous seam allowance and the stitching is not threatened. However, to prevent the raveling from going too far the dress should probably be dry cleaned if worn often. Or you might have a seamstress serge the edges if you can’t do it yourself.

This would be a great festival dress where authenticity is not important.
