Wood dodo bird figure, I believe designed by J.V. Orel for Swank in the 1950s-60s. Its original purpose was to hold small cuticle scissors in his beak and small nail clippers in his back. These are long gone. He stands 8″ tall and has a mass of Einstein hair. His head swivels in a circular motion by the peg in the hole and is not permanently attached. His legs can also be pulled out of the holes in the stand and one will come out of his body. I don’t know if the legs were like this originally or if the glue has dried up.

His body has some scuffs and the wood is dry. I did not apply any oil to feed the wood. The bottom is not marked and the sticker is gone.
