Small Booth Items: A Stamped Tile, Clock Parts As Wall Decor, and More Crafty Things Plus A New Farm Table In Our Booth

Here are some small booth items we added to our booth at Angel’s Antique Mall in Opelika last week plus a new farm table. Spring always puts me in a crafty mood, and I was able to take a few things I either made or put together. (The pictures are less than stellar. There is something about the lighting in the malls that I can’t get to agree with either my phone or the small camera I pack.) But first, how about using clock parts as wall decor?

You can enlarge the picture for a closer look here. I had a couple of old mantle clocks. One was in pieces. Not worth selling as it was, so I took it apart. I thought they’d look pretty cool as wall decor, but I’m betting whoever buys them will be a “clock man.”

The book page wreath. You’ve probably seen the big, fluffy, wreaths made with pages rolled into cones. A quick search on Pinterest pulls up lots of them. I tried to do one of those. But could never get past the first cone. My fingers were not dexterous enough to make a decent cone, so I searched for an alternative. Found a tutorial for this one on The Graphics Fairy by Gina of The Shabby Creek Cottage. It looked like something I could do, so I did. I made the nest and everything! Felt quite accomplished, I did. I’ll be flattered and encouraged if someone buys it. If not, I might crawl back under my rock. (Update: It did sell as did all the clock parts.)

Another quick, crafty thing I’ve been wanting to do for about a year now, was to stamp this Eiffel Tower onto this broken piece of tile.

What took me so long? I’m such a procrastinator. (Sold)

The next project was a bit more work. I’ve  had some drawers like this for several years, hanging around, falling apart, awaiting inspiration and a spurt of “let’s do it.” That came last week and resulted in this:

Black Board Drawer

The drawer had to be glued back together and had warped some. And I did it all by myself. Felt quite accomplished yet again! đŸ™‚ (Sold)

These stacks of vintage recipe cards I’d seen in an old Somerset magazine, don’t remember which one now. I chose to bundle them in pale pink seam binding, 10 cards in each stack.

I think I priced them a tad too high. Funny how sometimes you think someone would pay so much for something and the next day you wonder what in the world you were thinking? So, next time I’m there I’ll lower the price. I think I put $4.99 for the handwritten ones. Sound too much for 10 cards? That’s 50¢ each. I dunno.

Next up, something else that’s sat on the back burner for several years. This little, Florentine box. It had no knobs when I got it and for some reason, I never could decide what or how to add any. Finally, I took a deep breath and did it. Glued some old “ear bobs” on it for handles.

And last, but certainly not least, the latest farm table. The lighting gives the legs a pinkish tone. They’re not. If I remember right, they’re painted in General Finishes Linen and finished with a dark wax. The top is General Finishes Espresso.

Remember we moved our booth. It is now D-26. Seems easier to get to and kinda more with the “cool” kids. đŸ˜‰

Now, this week? Bleah. I’m rather uninspired. Well, maybe that’s not quite true. I don’t feel like being inspired, I guess. I came down with a nasty cold Saturday. Fever, can’t breathe, the whole nine yards. Fever’s gone and I should be up and at ’em, but all I want to do is sit on the sofa and be on the internet. I’m even talking on my personal Facebook page! Haven’t had time to do that in a long time. But I really need to work. Our bodies have a way of saying enough is enough, don’t they? There comes a point, though, that my mind will simply have to tell my body to shut up and get over it. I’ve got to get back to work.
