Such cool mcm curtain fabric! It could be as old as the 1950s or as young as the 1970s. I believe it’s probably on the younger end of those years. It is, or was, a drapery panel, 160″ wide (about 90″ across the top of the pleats) and 70″ long. The lining did its job well protecting the design fabric from the sun and (the lining) was totally dry rotted. It tore from the fabric quite easily. I did leave the pleated heading with the lining for your reference if you chose to remake the drapes. The fabric has been washed, so has lost most of its sizing, but it isn’t a wilted flower, either.

***I can’t really tell for certain that there is any fading, but let’s just assume there is.***

The fabric is strong. I’ve pulled and snatched and find no dry rot. The edges/folds have some wear. The corners, where the weights were are torn open.

The 160″ across are made up of four, 36″ panels sewn together. The design is rounded corner rectangles and links of burnt orange, gold, avocado green and brown with on an off white background. There are off-white patterned spots throughout to give it an old or distressed look. This is, of course, part of the design. The fabric is textured with natural slubs and is just the tiniest bit fuzzy, whether it always had the fuzzy or if it came from washing, I don”t know.

It can be used for drapes again or refashioned as pillows or chair seat covers. Or cut apart to make art pieces. It would be so groovy in a bachelor pad!
