Vintage Gold Imari bowl with a handpainted phoenix design. 10″ in diameter and 4″ tall. It has a border around the inside top of blue with gold scrolls. The inside center bottom has red flowers surrounded by lighter blue line circles. There is a dark speck of dirt under the glaze. The design outside has the phoenix bird alternating with its head at the top and the head at the bottom (right side up and upside down). Flowers and leaves are scattered throughout the outside. The bottom is a raised foot with light blue stripes. On the top rim, there is a tiny spot that was nicked prior to the being glazed, so that now, it’s just a smooth, unpainted, indention. There is no aftermarket damage. Bottom is marked Gold Imari and Handpainted. There is a worn sticker that would originally have read LJ Made In Japan.
