Fabulous – and quite hard to find – Østergaard carved teak animal figurines, a bear (or buffalo?) and a gorilla. Please see that a piece has broken off the back foot of the gorilla. That could have happened during the carving process or afterward. We have no way of knowing.
The gorilla is 3″ tall and wide and 1″ deep. One of his feet is stamped, or burned in, “PJØ”.
The bear is near perfect. There are two of the tiniest nicks on each side of his front feet. I’ve shown close-ups in the photos of them in the pictures. 4″ tall, 3-3/4″ wide and about an inch thick. One of the feet is stamped or burned in: PJØ
