Vintage, carved wood swan, painted and mirrored with green and silver rhinestones. I don’t know the age, but it’s definitely not new. Far from it. I do feel that it’s a reproduction of the antique swans from Burma. Probably made in India, perhaps 1980s, or earlier.
He’s pretty fabulous! Almost 12″ tall. He’s in a preening position. His body is painted gold, red and green and has alternating rows of scrolls and rhinestones. His neck is like scales, emulating, I suppose, the short neck feathers. The red and green paint was lightly applied to appear antique and distressed.
There are imperfections. I found a couple of missing rhinestones and a couple of chips, but frankly, I don’t believe any of that happened aftermarket.
He’s quite heavy, weighing 5-1/2 lbs.
